SUNK NAVIGATION

Hi!

Take a look at this news:

"SECURITY PACK FREEZES INTERNET EXPLORER
One of the latest security packages of Microsoft doesn't deal with Internet Explorer, leading to unexpected failures of the navigator. (...)
Microsoft plans to release a new package on August 22th."

Wait a second, I have four simple questions:
a) Doesn't Internet Explorer belong to Microsoft???
b) And wasn't it Microsoft which released the security pack FOR Internet Explorer???
c)
So, asking why does it crash the Explorer???
And, finally,
d) August 22th?!?!?! Come on, one week to release another emergency security pack?!?! Mr. Bill Gates must be kidding...

The more I read the news about Microsoft, the more I think Mrs. Janet Reno made us a huge favour...

SECOND HALF
Today I finally downloaded a movie called "The Grudge". I love japanese terror movies!!! They REALLY scare us!!!
I was very glad because it took 3 days to download and I really looked foward to watch the american version of Mr. Takashi Shimizu's master piece. BUT how I became surprised to see that it was... in FRENCH!!!!! Why didn't they let it in english and made subtitles??? Yes, I know the answer: french people HATE speaking english... but it ruined my expectations about the movie!!! So, here I am, posting a "tribute" to french people!
It's a sketch of Monty Python's Flying Circus, the best, the pioneer comedy show I've ever seen. Well, do I need to tell you they are english? hahahahahaha

They are genius. I HIGHLY recommend you to see their show!!!

OVERTIME
Juliane: Yes, Mr. Blair fitted on Mr. Schwarzenegger's body would be something really bizarre! hahaha I wonder Mr. Blair with this body beside Price Charles on a picture...
And thank you for the video!!!! I really REALLY liked!!! Because it reminds me my childhood (although that time I didn't understand why they left a motel nor they uniform)!! A real classic!

Reona: Thank you for the comment!!! My blog and I missed you! hahaha But I can understand you've been absent for these days... Your testing sessions on your job must have left you really tired. Don't worry, ok? I've been absent too...
And I like this movie too! It made me think about my career... Now I see it is a little nonsense, but the part which Al Pacino says about God is really a lesson... Of course I don't think like Devil (hahaha) but sometimes some things happen and we understand only later (connect dots).

KICK THE CHAIR

Hello, guys!!

Today, August 11th, is the Lawyer's Day here in Brazil. I did celebrated because I'm officially a lawyer. Here is my license I got last friday:

But honestly, nowadays there are many scandals involving lawyers. Many of them do their job not only defending criminal people, but they also take advantage of some prerogatives and help them giving cell phones inside jails, sharing informations about criminal organizations...

Well, these episodes only remind me lyrics from a song called "Kick the Chair", from Megadeth (that's right: that heavy metal band). Here it is:

"Dawn breaks evenly today
On the truth and the lie
All rise, court's in session
We're hanging someone high

Justice means nothing today

Now that the courts are for sale
Pick a crime from the menu; pick a sentence and defend you

And pay up the down payment called bail
The system's for sale

Kick the chair, the rope's tight

Just like one quick wrench, the tooth is out

Friend or foe, I gotta hang em dead
Or they'll come back around
Kick it!

The court's wrong when it keeps track
Of victories and defeats

The press that never rest just waits
For somebody's soul they can eat

Justice means nothing today

Now that the jury's for sale

Guilty or not, the verdict's a lie
You're going to jail
The system has failed

Kick the chair, the rope's tight
Just like one quick wrench, the tooth is out

Friend or foe, ya gotta hang em dead

Or they'll come back"

Well, I hope the lyrics are wrong... I'll keep on fighting, but honestly I don't know if many think like me...

DO YOU WANT TO BE BRAZILIAN?

Hello, folks!!

Today my brother sent me a joke. Here it is:

"The engineer was sent to Hell and he was hired as employee. When he got there, he felt very uncomfortable and started to make projects like air conditioned, new bathrooms and even moving staircase.

The engineer became very popular in Hell.

One day, God called Evil on the phone and asked ironicaly:
- So, Evil, what's up?
And Evil answered:
- Wonderful!!!! Now we have air conditioned, new bathrooms and now the engineer is planning such beautiful things!!!
God didn't believe:
- What?!?! You have an engineer down there?!? This was a mistake!! Engineers NEVER go to hell! Tell him to come here in Heaven!! Imediately!!!
Evil replied:
- No way! I liked having an engineer here and I will keep him.
God was very angry. And shouted on the phone:
- SEND HIM HERE!!! NOW! Or I will take the legal ways!!
And Evil laughed:
- Hahahaha!!! And where will you get a lawyer??"

Well, I think I don't have to tell you that my brother is engineer... And I am lawyer...

BRAZILIAN CULTURE TOPIC
And since we are talking about lawyer, I want to tell you that it is still possible you become brazilian!

Yes, really! Brazilian, just like me!
Here is what you need:
- do not comit any crime
- live here in Brazil for 15 years
- require the brazilian nationality
Quite simple, isn't it? And there is one more thing: if you come from a country whose native language is portuguese, you have to live here for only 1 year.
Welcome!!!!

NEWS
Roberto Carlos will stay on Real Madrid.
Oh my, Fabio Capello is blind. Or Adidas is paying A FORTUNE to keep him. Because he is old and useless. I'll do the same thing I did before World Cup. You can mark this: Real Madrid AGAIN will NOT win any championship.

Blair is jealous of Schwarzenegger's physical.
... ... ... I have seen many politician people be jealous of money, of power... but... physical? And there is more: he told her wife about his feeling!
After two days showing violence and crazy stuff, now we could have politic beauty contest.
What about Chuck Norris being governor of... Texas, of course??

THE DWARF'S CHOICE

Hi!

Ok, it's been a long time, you may think I forgot to post about Brazil's coach Dunga.
Even Reona has posted about him.

No, I didn't forget. I just wanted to wait a little bit because it is a very strange situation... At first I thought Dunga was called only for the friendly game against Norway. But the news say points to his permanence. So now I will post my opinion.

First of all, Dunga is the portuguese name of one of the Snow White's seven dwarves (that's why I put the first image). I don't know why they nicknamed the player (now coach) as Dunga. Because the dwarf is extremely sweet, comprehensive, easy. And the player has endurance, leadership, perseverance, integrity.

I admire Dunga. He is the kind of player Brazil's team needs. A guy who fights until the end.
Everybody is saying he will charge the will of victories on the team.
But... On the other hand, he has never been a coach. I don't know what to expect from him. Only leadership and courage can't win many championships... The players might respect him a lot, but if he doesn't give the correct orders, the team will be mess up!

His career history is:

Internacional (1983-1984),
Corinthians (1984-1985) (YUK!!),
Santos (1986),
Pisa (Italy) (1987-1988),
Vasco (1987),
Fiorentina (Italia) (1988-1992),
Pescara (Italia) (1992-1993),
Stuttgart (Germany) (1993-1995),
Jubilo Iwata (Japan) (1995-1998)
Internacional (1999-2000).

His history on Brazil's official team is:
96 matches
66 victories
21 withdraws
9 losses
7 goals scored

And today he announced the players for the friendly game. Here they are (the words on brackets are the players' teams and countries, ok?):

GOAL KEEPER
Fábio (Cruzeiro - Brazil)
Gomes (PSV Eindhoven- Netherland)

SIDE FIELD
Cicinho* (Real Madrid - Spain)
Maicon (Internazzionale - Italy)
Marcelo (Fluminense - Brazil)
Gilberto* (Hertha Berlim - Germany)

DEFENSE
Alex (PSV Eindhoven - Netherland)
Edmílson* (Barcelona - Spain)
Juan* (Bayer Leverkussen - Germany)
Lúcio* (Bayern Munich - Germany)
Luisão* (Benfica - Portugal)

MID-FIELD
Dudu Cearense (CSKA - Russia)
Gilberto Silva* (Arsenal - England)
Jônatas (Flamengo - Brazil)
Wagner (Cruzeiro - Brazil)
Elano (Shakhtar - Ukraine)
Morais (Vasco - Brazil)
Júlio Baptista (Real Madrid - Spain)
Daniel Carvalho (CSKA - Russia)

FOWARD
Fred* (Lyon - France)
Robinho* (Real Madrid - Spain)
Vágner Love (CSKA - Russia)

*the player was on 2006 World Cup

Let's wait until August 16th to watch the game... Many players are young and indicate a renewal process.

By the way, I almost forgot!!! Today Robinho and Gravensen fought on the training session of Real Madrid! When I read the news, I could not believe, but then I saw the pictures! In two years I NEVER saw Robinho mad at anybody... Yes, just like I said yesterday, the world is going insane!

Ipshi: Thank you for the comment! Welcome to my blog! Well, you are absolutely right, it was a terrible experience. But the thing is we have matches between two teams from the same state (what not happens on NBA, for example), and the rivalry on these cases are very strong. So people start to think it is kind of a war... Sunday, on Internacional vs. Gremio match, Gremio's supporters set fire on public restrooms and, of course, they fought against Internacional's supporters. You may ask about police, but it is difficult... How to deal with over 30.000 people fighting?

14th ROUND OF BRAZILIAN CHAMPIONSHIP

Hello, folks!!!

Just for updating. You will laugh and get outraged about the news...

FIRST HALF
29/07/2006 Juventude 1 x 0 Figueirense
Juventude is from Rio Grande do Sul state. Many players say that people from there can really support a team. It seems it worked because Figueirense was good so far.

29/07/2006 São Caetano 1 x 1 Ponte Preta
Mr. Emerson Leao has gone to Sao Caetano during the World Cup. He was considered a good coach when he was champion in 2002. But now... Draw with Ponte Preta is a bad sign...

29/07/2006 Palmeiras 4 x 2 Para
Wow!!! The stats after the World Cup: 4 matches, 4 victories! Congratulations to the coach, Mr. Tite! He really awoke the fighting spirit of the team!

30/07/2006 Atlético Paranaense 1 x 0 Flamengo
And after Flamengo be champion of Brazil's Cup, it finally is showing what it really is... Even entered into the red zone...

30/07/2006 Vasco 1 x 0 Cruzeiro
I couldn't understand this result. Vasco is an awful team, but I don't know how, it managed to beat the second team of the classification table. Cruzeiro is starting to sleep, that's what I think...

30/07/2006 Santa Cruz 1 x 0 Corinthians
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
Congratulations to Santa Cruz: after the World Cup the directory body fired 10 players and this is the result: 4 matches, 4 victories, just like Palmeiras.
Plus: It sunk Corinthians even more!!!

30/07/2006 São Paulo 0 x 4 Santos
Very nice result to Santos!!!
Sao Paulo was not with the best players but nobody expected a 4-0 score to Santos... Anyway, it is focused much more on the Wednesday's match, against Chivas Gudalahara on Libertadores' Cup.

30/07/2006 Goiás 1 x 1 Fortaleza
No comments... Goias is not a bad team, but the coach, Mr. Antonio Lopes is pityful.

30/07/2006 Internacional 0 x 0 Grêmio
Here in Brazil there are matches we call "classic match", which is a match between two big rival teams from the same state. For example, in Sao Paulo, we had Sao Paulo vs. Santos.
In Rio Grande do Sul classic, we had Internacional vs. Gremio.
I don't want to talk about the game, because everybody only talked about the fire put by the crowd (from both teams!)... It's unbelievable...

30/07/2006 Fluminense 1 x 1 Botafogo
Botafogo was able to score this goal, what saved it from the red zone. But it is not too far from it...

CLASSIFICATION TABLE
POINTS WINS DRAWS LOSSES
1st Sao Paulo 29 9 2 3

2nd Internacional 26 7 5 2
3rd Cruzeiro 25 7 4 3
4th Fluminense 25 7 4 3
5th Parana 24 7 3 4
6th Santos 24 7 3 4
7th Vasco 22 6 4 4
8th Figueirense 21 6 3 5
9th Juventude 20 6 2 6
10th Goias 19 5 4 5
11th Atletico Paranaense 17 5 2 7
12th Sao Caetano 17 4 5 5
13th Gremio 17 4 5 5
14th Palmeiras 16 5 1 8
15th Botafogo 16 3 7 4
16th Santa Cruz 15 4 3 7
17th Ponte Preta 15 4 3 7
18th Flamengo 14 4 2 8
19th Fortaleza 13 2 7 5
20th Corinthians 10 3 1 10

SECOND HALF
The world is absolutely insane...

1) Paul Tracy, one of the oldest racers of USA, was involved on a scandal, fighting with another racer, Alex Tagliani:

2) I don't know what kind of therapy this is, but the news says it is in Japan:

3) In South Korea, there is a company which created the pijama day:

OVERTIME
Reona: Thank you for the comment!!! It's been a long time I don't post, right? Well, I'm back! hahaha
Yes, our meeting was very good, although we weren't able to talk as much as we wanted to. I'm glad she liked the place, the experiences... I agree with you, the post cards are beautiful! But honestly, the ones you send me are a little more special for me...
"Go to Vancouver"? Hmmmm... We might go together, what do you think? hahaha

Juliane: Hey, hey!!! I'm glad you are blogging again!! That's nice!!! And yes, of course you'll find subjects to your posts, it is very easy.
Thank you, I'll put your blog on my Friends' blogs links!

NICE GIFTS!!!!

Hello, hello!!!

Today I have great news!!! After 3 months I finally was able to meet my good old friend Juliane, who was in Canada studying. She even made a blog about her trip.

And the fact is she brought what I asked her: beautiful post cards!!! Thank you, Juliane!! I loved them!!!! If you don't mind, I'd like to share them with my blog friends!

Someday I'd like to visit Canada. I remember I had to write an essay in english for an examination on a lawyer office. I don't know why, but I decided to write about it. Now I'm curious to visit.

HE IS THE GUY!!!
No, folks, I don't cheer for Sao Paulo, but I have to admit: Rogerio Ceni is an historical goal keeper.
Today he scored one goal (yes, believe me: a goal keeper who likes scoring goals) against
Chivas Guadalahara:

Now there is only one goal left to be the best goal keeper-striker ever. He is equal Paraguay's Chilavert, an arrogant person who once spited on Roberto Carlos' face (well, considering what Roberto Carlos did on this World Cuip, I would do the same thing... hahaha):

THE LAST POSITION! FINALLY!!!

Hi, guys!!!

How are all of you? I hope you had a nice weekend!! Because I had! And soon you will know why!

FIRST HALF
22/07/2006 Figueirense 2 x 0 Grêmio
Usual result. Gremio has a bad team, so playing at opponent's home only gets the things worse.

22/07/2006 Para 1 x 0 Cruzeiro
Wow. Parana doesn't have a great team, but beat Cruzeiro... It really is a big surprise on the championship! Let's see if it will bear the good campaign until the end.

22/07/2006 Corinthians 2 x 2 Fortaleza
Dammit... After 550 minutes, Corinthians scored one goal... But it wasn't a bad result if we consider that Fortaleza played at opponent's home AND take a look what Corinthians' best player did to the supporters:
22/07/2006 Fluminense 2 x 2 São Caetano
Medium level team + medium level team = withdraw. It should have been a good game, I wasn't able to watch even the goals...

23/07/2006 Ponte Preta 1 x 3 São Paulo
And Sao Paulo shows that it is the best team indeed. Again, my answer to that is management (without the processes! hahaha). I have to recognize that Mr. Marcelo Portugal Gouvea (ex-president of the club) did an EXCELLENT job.
By the way, Sao Paulo played this match only with substitutes, because the main players are taking a rest for the wednesday's game against Chivas Guadalahara by Libertadores Cup.

23/07/2006 Vasco 2 x 1 Atlético Paranaense
Atlético Paranaense had its sequence of invencibility. I just can't understand how Vasco made it. It is a very bad team!

23/07/2006 Santa Cruz 3 x 0 Flamengo
hahahaha This only proves that Flamengo REALLY depends on 3 players (which I think you have already realized that didn't play)... Soon we will see it suffering.

23/07/2006 Goiás 1 x 3 Palmeiras
After the World Cup, the statistics are: 3 matches, 3 victories. Very nice results!!! For a team that nobody thought it would be able to win again... But it is still on the red zone, under the threat of falling down to the second division.

23/07/2006 Internacional 0 x 0 Botafogo
An explainable result. Yes, Botafogo is awful, but Internacional was doing the same as Sao Paulo: the main players did not play in order to take a rest to wednesday's match, against Libertad by Libertadores Cup.

23/07/2006 Santos 3 x 2 Juventude
After 49 days, Santos played at its home!! And it brought good new feelings, because after 4 games without winning, Santos finally won!
By the way, Mr. Vanderlei Luxemburgo (team's coach) interviewed today and said he DOESN'T want to coach Brazil's official team...

So the Classification Table is:
POINTS WIN WITHDRAW LOSS
1st Sao Paulo 29 9 2 2
2nd Cruzeiro 25 7 4 2
3rd Internacional 25 7 4 2
4th Parana 24 7 3 3
5th Fluminense 24 7 3 3
6th Figueirense 21 6 3 4
7th Santos 21 6 3 4
8th Vasco 19 5 4 4
9th Goias 18 5 3 5
10th Juventude 17 5 2 6
11th Sao Caetano 16 4 4 5
12th Gremio 16 4 4 5
13th Botafogo 15 3 6 4
14th Atletico Paranaense 14 4 2 7
15th Flamengo 14 4 2 7
16th Ponte Preta 14 4 2 7
17th Palmeiras 13 4 1 8
18th Santa Cruz 12 3 3 7
19th Fortaleza 12 2 6 5
20th Corinthians 10 3 1 9 (see why I'm happy???? HAHAHAHAHA)

SECOND HALF
Ladies and gentlemen, I present you the 2006 Miss Universe:

Her name is Zuleyka Rivera, from Porto Rico.

Ok, ok, I'm not an specialist (and I don't want to be), but I think this was kind of an unfair result... Probably her interview with the judges were better than her biggest opponent's. Who was her biggest opponent? Miss Japan:

Her name is Kurara Chibana, who I think is more charismatic than Ms. Rivera because she spoke to the crowd! But anyway, at least she won the Miss National Costume prize, she dressed a samurai costume:
One thing I was really impressed was about her height: 5'8" (173cm)! So far I've never seen a japanese woman as tall as I...

Well, if you want to know, Miss Brazil was there too:

Her name is Rafaela Zanella and she is from Rio Grande do Sul state (known by its beautiful women - and tall! Do you know the top Gisele Bündchen? She is from there). Unfortunately she was disclassified on the 2nd stage...

My favorite? Well, there were many pretty women, but among the finalists, I expected Miss Paraguay would win. But I think the beauty is not the only criterion for that...

OVERTIME
Reona: Thank you for the comment! No, unfortunately, as I told you while we were chatting, the flight was cancelled... But this week Juliane arrives for sure! I mean if it is not Varig flight company... hahaha
Neither did I know about Friends' Day. The important thing is we worth them!
I agree with you, Japan needs a star again. But as you said, if Japan's system doesn't support young players, there will be no one. If making money is the problem, well, you japanese people are very intelligent, a nice marketing plan would be able to make money easily.
And you read this kind of books? Well, I'm sorry, I didn't mean they are useless, but the advertisement were abolutely empty of meaning... And I'm very curious to know what these courses and technics are about. Yes, let's chat about it!

Erika: Yes, the picture is very funny!!! I laughed at it because Brazil's team was really LOST on the field against France... And Ronaldo is a very know star. You are right, he is an admirable person: broke his knee twice but was able to get back to soccer. Did you know he is the UNICEF's official ambassador in Brazil? Thank you for "el comentario"! hahaha
